Hair Trenz opens in Tinley Park

Nicole Bowden has opened Hair Trenz, a full service hair salon, at 17216 S. Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park. Bowden said her salon caters to men, women and children and haircuts start at $13. She opened her own shop after styling hair for 13 years at Shear Express in Tinley Park. Hair Trenz has five stations and is open daily.

Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The phone number is 708-429-0055. She doesn't have a Web site but Bowden said Hair Trenz does have a Facebook page.

New owners for Nick's Tavern
New owners have taken over at Nick's Tavern, 221 Main St. in Lemont. Louie and Joanne Novak turned over the keys last week to Don Quaid Sr. and Don Quaid Jr. The restaurant, which is famous for its monster Nickburger, was opened in 1945 by Joanne's father, Nick.

Tranquility Spa opens in Orland Park
Tranquility Spa opened recently at 18058 Wolf Road in Orland Park. The spa offers skin therapy, massage therapy and waxing, among other services. U.S. Bancorp has acquired the assets of the Community Bank of Lemont and four branches of Park National Bank in Chicago Heights, Flossmoor, Homewood and Chicago's Mount Greenwood community.

Mongo to visit Apple Chevrolet
Former Chicago Bear star Steve "Mongo" McMichael will sign autographs, pose for photos and raffle off football memorabilia and Bears tickets from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Apple Chevrolet, 8585 W. 159th St., in Tinley Park. He was there about the same time last year and drew a huge crowd.
