Fans of El Cortez, the popular Mexican restaurant chain originally based in Blue Island, can now get their fill of tacos, fajitas and cerveza fria at the new location at 10128 W. 191st St. in Mokena.

The Mokena location opened on Monday and its hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The nearby location at 171st Street and Wolf Road in Orland Park will remain open but only for dinner from Monday through Thursday. It will have regular hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The chain's flagship restaurant at 183rd Street and Cicero Avenue in Country Club Hills also remains open.

The new location will feature the chef from the original Blue Island location, which has since been closed. The eatery's phone number is 708-478-7766.
