Huck Finn Reopens With New Look

By Bob Bong
Southland Savvy

The Huck Finn restaurant at 10501 S. Cicero Ave. reopened Monday after being closed for a few weeks for remodeling.

“We have a new color scheme, new tile, new wallpaper, new tables and booths,” said general manager George Hrysikos.

“We still have some details on the outside to take care,” he said. “Eventually, we’ll do some remodeling at our other two locations, too.”

Hrysikos said Huck Finn is still open 24 hours and still has its customized jumbo doughnuts available.

McDonald’s Grand Re-opening

The McDonald’s restaurant at 801 E. 162nd St. in South Holland will hold its grand re-opening and ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The restaurant recently underwent a major remodeling.

Orland Library Hosts Business Unwrapped

The Orland Park Public Library, 14921 S. Ravinia Ave., will host its Business Unwrapped session on Friday, April 13, at 11:45 a.m.

This month’s topic is its annual social media wrap-up. Find out how using blogs, Twitter and Facebook are just a few of the ways that you can let your customers know about your latest sales promotion or newest products. Bring your lunch and learn.

A look at new businesses coming into town and a fond farewell to those that have, for whatever reason, called it quits.

Red Velvet Closed

We’re catching up on this one. The Red Velvet Lounge at 11011 Southwest Highway in Palos Hills closed back in early February.
